Each class is 8 weeks long and ends with a graduation show on the Studio A stage. All classes are held in the Studio A Theater, 410 Adams St. Toledo. The next round of classes runs from Monday, September 9, 2019 thru Thursday, October 31st. A student showcase will be held that weekend in Studio A.
Level 1: Fall in love with improv.
Love. Truth. Play.
Jeremy introduces you to the building blocks of improvisation: saying yes-and, being honest, and having fun! You'll learn lots of short-form games that will challenge you to get out of your comfort zone and hashtag: just do it.
INSTRUCTOR: Jeremy Natter WHEN: Thursdays 6:30-9pm STARTS: September 12, 2019
Level 2: Dig that honeymoon phase.
Trust. Listen. Agree.
Chris will help you take those skills you learned in Erin's class and develop them for longer scenes and games. You will find and follow patterns, strengthen your listening skills, and develop your group-mind vibe.
INSTRUCTOR: Chris LaVigne WHEN: Mondays 6:30-9pm STARTS: September 9, 2019
Level 3: Seriously, get a room.
Risk. Discover. Build.
With Nick you'll dip your toes in the long-form bathtub, learning advanced techniques to help you navigate group scenes and long-form improv. You'll get bolder, tighter, and create scenes full of rich details and characters. Nick will focus on creating scenic depth rather than breadth, quickly identifying and playing the game of the scene and above all else, maintaining your love affair with spontaneously creating laughter with other people.
INSTRUCTOR: Nick Morgan WHEN: Wednesdays 6:30-9pm STARTS: September 11, 2019
Various long forms will be explored: Character study, Harold, and Monoscene.
INSTRUCTOR: Diana DePasquale WHEN: Tuesdays 6:30-9pm STARTS: September 10, 2019
